To make the tournament super duper social and super duper fun, we'll be doing 10-minute mini matches using a Crown of the Court format! This means you get to play with a new partner in every game and meet a pile of people. Players will be randomly paired and assigned to a court. If you win, you'll move to the right and split with your partner (to end up playing each other). If you lose, you'll move to the left and split with your partner. Each player on the winning team gets one point. After the games are done, the points tally will be revealed to crown the winners!
Red on your head! Everyone must wear something red on your head – a hat, a wig, a bandana, a buff, naturally red AND/OR dyed red hair, a beanie, a helmet, a unicorn horn, a crown, a feather duster tiara, anything that's red!
Bring FUN to this crazy FUN tournament! Also a pickleball paddle and any accompanying athletic garb (water bottle, indoor court shoes, etc.) If you need a paddle, our partner Bridge City Pickleball Hub and pickleballpaddlescanada.ca will be selling paddles at the tournament.
Bring FUN to the party, too! Also cash for a cash-only bar, 50/50 tickets, and auction tickets (there is also an ATM on the premises).
At the afterparty, we'll have Shanghai rolls, veggies & dip, and crackers & cheese. There are more food options at the Warman Home Centre Communiplex such as Twinses Café, Subway, and Booster Juice.
Water fountains are available during the tournament, as well as drinks to purchase at the venues in the Warman Home Centre Communiplex.
We will have a cash-only bar at the afterparty with beer, wine, and pop.
Absolutely! If they can play pickleball, they're certainly welcome to enter. Kids are also welcome to come to the afterparty, especially if they dance like maniacs!
Very limited run t-shirts, raglan shirts, hats, bucket hats, stickers, and iron-on patches will be available for purchase! We'll also have a few more fancy schmancy red headwear should you forget the dress code.

The Red Pickleball Tournament is in honour of the beautiful Joanne Kachur (1953-2024). You don’t have to have known Joanne to join – she LOVED meeting new people. But you do have to wear Red On Your Head – a dress code inspired by Joanne’s redheaded pride!
